I had many- none now

Daily writing prompt
Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?

School days were in company of Enid Blyton, Hardy boys, Nancy drew and the likes. Mind lived in the dreams of the characters of these books.

As age progressed, Dale Carnegie, Napolean Hill were added and dreams started forming about career and future. Every few pages had a new quote and new idea to live for.

By the time education finished, mind was really bursting to get out of the cage. It was full of ideas, energy and at that time world was the stage and sky was the limit.

Entered business and heroes of the books kept company. They kindled the dreams and their quotes filled up with energy, motivation to convert dreams into reality.

Reality brought challenges. Government regulations, finances, breakdowns, marketing skills, getting work out from people. All these were not taught in schools and niether did hereos warned before.

Marriage happened, children came along, responsibilities grew and routine transformed from a dreamer to juggler.

Technology changed, mobiles, internet, faster and instant communication tools came. Time of instant decisions, faster communications, multitasking, information overload happened. Challenges shifted from local plateform to global plateform. Routine transformed from juggler to survivor.

Meanwhile age progressed, children grew, responsibilities increased, expenses increased and days transformed from living by quotes to living from bill to bill.

Motivational hereos were accomodated on book shelf and new hereos with new quotes took over from youtube.

Age is progressing. Youtube is constantly trying to motivate with newer quotes. Bookshelf needs dusting. Childhood heroes are still there, maybe smiling. They have seen sets of people changing but not the life. Perhaps they too are waiting for someone to transform.
