History is not made by few individuals alone. History is made when group of people or society or country stand in unity for a common cause.
Every person who has created history, whether it be for independence, whether it be for a discovery , whether it be for an invention, whether it be for exploration to the unknown, is worthy of our respect and recognition. It is but for the efforts of all of those people that we live in this world as it is today.
India is one of the oldest civilisations in the world. The knowledge of sages in ancient times and hard work of people, helped India become the richest country on earth. For thousands of years, raiders from across the globe invaded it for its riches. Brave kings fought and laid their lives for defending and expanding the borders. For over a thousand years, India was under foreign rule. There are countless of people who dreamt and stood up for independence of country. They all are all my hereos.
It is difficult to single out one favourite amongst them.
My favourite is the one who ignited the spark. India was fragmented into princely states and communication options were limited. Here was one single man who started the monumental task of uniting entire country into one single aim of getting freedom.
He did this using the path of peace and non violence, something unimaginable in those times to give results. But the impossible became possible. He remains my favorite historical figure, not for his idealogies, maybe not for his actions but for igniting the first spark and uniting country into one for independence.
My heartfelt homage to the Father of Nation -Mahatma Gandhi.
