An off grid commune somewhere up in the hills in calm and serene environment is the place where i would volunteer for free. Free means food and place to live, no money😊.
In my imagination, such a commune consists of people of various skills. Day starts with yoga and meditation. Food is grown organically, water is harvested, solar energy is used, people make all sorts of nature friendly products which are sold to meet community expenses. Extra food is converted to snacks, juices, jams etc. Members may also work online to boost their earnings.
People act as motivators and teachers to nearby villages and teach them to earn a livelihood while preserving nature. Tourists come here to spend few days to experience life in the lap of nature.
Evenings are for learning, sharing, teaching and discourses. This commune is connected to the world but untouched by it.
I wish such a community exists. I wish I could spend most of my retired life at such a place
