This is the story of a mighty river. Somewhere in snow clad mountains, this holy river was born. With bubbling enthusiasm and excitement, it rushed towards the plains.
It grew in size, in stature and people started worshipping it. On its banks, civilizations spruced up. This river continued on its onward journey while nurturing everyone who came to her.
Finally one day it stared at the mighty ocean ready to accept her.
The river trembled with fear. She looked back but there was no turning back. She did not want to lose her identity. She did not want to disappear by merging in the ocean.
But merge she must. There is no other choice. It is only after merging, she realizes that it is not about merging and disappearing in the ocean, it is about becoming one. By merging in the ocean, she becomes an ocean. Now her fear disappears and she happily looks forward to becoming an ocean.
This is life.
A man is born. With time his stature grows in wealth, knowledge and wisdom. He continuously takes from society and gives back to society. A day comes when he stares at his death. Death is merging back with the supreme source which has given birth.. Time has come again to merge and disappear. He trembles with fear but there is no turning back.
Merge he must, but like river, it is not merging in supreme power, it is becoming one. The sooner he realizes, he loses the fear of death and fills more life into his life.
But he must not wait till death to achieve this state of oneness.
As saints have said, by not getting attached to the worldly possessions, by merging your identity and ego with the supreme power, you can achieve the same fearless state while you are still alive and this is called “Dying when you are still alive”
As Bhagvat Gita says, this is when everything in the world belongs to you and you belong to everyone.
“ EVERYTHING BELONGS TO YOU AND YOU BELONG TO EVERYONE.”
Fantastic !!
