- Bad times come. That time we feel low. Bad or depressing times may come due to problems in relationships finances, health etc.
- In depression, our mind thinks negatively. These negative thoughts release chemicals inside the body. Accordingly, hormones are released which give rise to negative emotions.
- Sometimes we may have suicidal tendencies and sometimes we want to hurt someone.
- In these times, everyone advises us to be strong, to be positive.
BUT HOW?
- By acknowledging the emotions, by accepting them, by watching them.
- Keep in mind that emotions are not here to disturb us. They are there to help us.
- Sit in a comfortable position, relax, and be quiet. The body will try to disturb but do not worry. Sit quietly. Watch your breath.
- Slowly you will find that thoughts will become less and less. You be quiet and do not do anything.
- Now emotions will throw some images. You will start getting possible solutions.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU DO !
- Keep yourself active. In lethargy, paralysis happens. Walking is good exercise. Yoga is good. Strength exercises like push-ups etc are good. When we are active mitochondria in cells release energy. It is important to break the pattern of negative thoughts.
- Think about what others, whom you follow, do in a similar situation.
- Help others. Do not think that you have nothing so you should not give to others. On the contrary, nature gives you back if you help others.
- Surround yourself with good books and friends.
We have to make conscious effort to come out of situation. It won’t happen otherwise.
Best wishes!
